$710 Million in Ike Damages at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Mass Layoffs to Be Averted?

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston has suffered around $710 million in damages from Hurricane Ike. Texas lawmakers are working on a relief measure that would prevent layoffs of up to one-third of UTMB's workforce.
