Digital Scholarship 2008 Use Statistics

Digital Scholarship had over 8.5 million file requests in 2008 of which over 5.4 million were page views (page views exclude image and zip files). Spiders accounted for over 2.8 million requests.

There were over 1.6 million visitors from 201 countries. The top 10 countries by number of visitors were:

  1. United States
  2. France
  3. United Kingdom
  4. Canada
  5. Germany
  6. China
  7. Sweden
  8. Russian Federation
  9. Japan
  10. Australia

The top ten user universities by number of page views were:

  1. Umea University
  2. Cornell University
  3. Universität zu Köln
  4. University of Sydney
  5. University at Albany, State University of New York
  6. University of Helsinki
  7. Universität Bielefeld
  8. University of Illinois
  9. University of California, Office of the President
  10. The University of Melbourne

The most popular Digital Scholarship publication was DigitalKoans, which had over 6.2 million file requests of which over 3.6 million were page views. There were over 1.2 million visitors from 195 countries.

The Scholarly Electronic Publishing Bibliography took second place with over 1.1 million file requests of which over 1 million were page views. There were over 202,700 visitors from 159 countries.

Since it was established in April 2005, Digital Scholarship has had over 15.9 million file requests of which over 10.1 million were page views.

There have been over 3.4 million visitors from 214 countries.

WebLog Expert was used to analyze log files.
