Under the general direction of the Director of Teaching, Research, and Learning Services, the Assistant Director for Digital Scholarship leads of a team of professionals that initiate and collaborate on digital scholarship initiatives throughout the Penn Libraries, with Penn faculty and staff partners campus-wide, and beyond. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of contemporary digital library standards for the creation, management, description and preservation of digital objects in all formats, both simple and complex, and tracks development of standards and community practice in emerging areas of digital library engagement, such as data management/curation and linked data. S/he is familiar with the use of technology, digital analytical and processing techniques, and markup standards used by faculty instructors and researchers, has experience with open access publishing, and repository services, and is comfortable engaging faculty to foster digital library integration into the scholarly enterprise as appropriate.
