The metadata strategist is responsible for providing leadership, training, and project coordination and management for initiatives and projects in the application of metadata, and serves as the local authority for metadata standards. The position is responsible for providing expert counsel on decisions about data platforms, data model development, interoperability for enhanced discovery, and the development of new digital and metadata services. The metadata strategist collaborates closely with the Libraries Digital Library Development Lab, the Digital Collections Unit, other Libraries units, Technical Services leadership, and campus units outside the Libraries.
