The Faculty Director of Libraries Information Technology (LIT) reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Libraries and serves as a member of the Libraries Management Team which works collaboratively to articulate the vision and strategic direction of the Libraries. As a member of the faculty, this position supervises a department of two FTE faculty, 11.5 FTE professional and technical staff, and student assistants. This position plays a key role in developing strategies to support next generation library services and resources in conjunction with Libraries and campus colleagues. The faculty director assumes multifaceted roles and manages a department that provides webmaster functions, web development, coordination and support of digital user experience testing, digitization services, audio-visual media production, and desktop and server support. Providing technical support for Libraries' faculty research goals is also a component of the directors responsibilities. In addition, in the campus IT community, the faculty director maintains a leadership role that advocates for the Libraries' needs in the development of the campus IT infrastructure.
