Digital Scholarship

Digital Scholarship provides information and commentary about artificial intelligence, digital copyright, digital curation, digital repository, open access, research data management, scholarly communication, and other digital information issues. It was established in 2005 by Charles W. Bailey, Jr. (ORCID ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8453-4402), who has been an open access publisher since 1989 when he launched The Public-Access Computer Systems Review—the first open access journal in the field of library and information science. Digital Scholarship's digital publications are open access (i.e., free of charge) and are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License or under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. All works are in English. Digital Scholarship is a noncommercial publisher and it accepts no advertising.

Digital Scholarship publishes the DigitalKoans weblog on weekdays (over 16,000 posts), digital and print books, digital bibliographies/webliographies, and other publications. Its most recent publications include a series of bibliographies that provide access to over 1,000 references about research data curation and management and a webliography that describes digital curation certificate and Master's degree programs.

Digital Art (2013-present): Noncommercial digital artist Charles W. Bailey, Jr. transforms photographs into digital artwoks using specialized Photoshop plug-ins and art programs. He has made over 600 digital artworks available on Flickr and other social media sites, providing detailed information about how each artwork was created.

I'm a big fan of the balance of simplicity and complexity in these poems. They clearly reflect another time in poetry when the influence of Wallace Stevens was still strong yet they are closer to James Wright or H.D. than they are to Stevens: still deeply attached to myth but as a matter of fact rather than an exotic evocation. . . .

These four bibliographies, compiled in one volume, offer invaluable assistance to the researcher on all forms of digital scholarship. While not exhaustive, this volume gives researchers a much-needed representation of the most important citations on all forms of electronic publishing and related issues, from a burgeoning literature, through providing meticulous, complete, and accurate citations-the winnowing that has occurred in reviewing and compiling this Annual update is remarkable.
