  • Assists with the installation, maintenance and customization of programming related to open source and commercial, off-the-shelf software applications/enhancements and modifications to meet current and projected needs; reviews and modifies systems programs as needed to correct utility or application programs.
  • Serves as the primary XML-XSLT programmer.
  • Deploys XML-based product DigiTool (Ex-Libris). DigiTool is GLS's digital object management platform.
  • Defines and implements programmatic interfaces with other Digital Library systems.
  • Applies principles of usability, accessibility and assessment to develop effective interfaces and navigation structures to meet user needs.
  • Provides web application programming; maintains web software applications; develops and/or maintains documentation and procedures/programs manuals to indicate system/program logic; and may perform content management for GLS' website.
  • Designs and develops web interface to SQL databases; Linux and Windows server system administration to include installing patches and programming modules, writing Perl scripts, creating SQL Select Queries (custom Voyager Library System), and may provide programming support related to Metalib, SFX, and locally developed applications.
