Providing leadership and guidance, the Technical Systems Architect ensures the Technical Systems team delivers quality solutions that aligns with faculty, staff, and student needs and interests. The managed systems under the Technical Systems Architect's purview comprise a variety of hardware and software configurations, such as, but not limited to, staff desktops and laptops; full-service workstations with general-purpose, productivity, and academic software, dual-booting into Windows and Mac OS X; specialized Windows workstations for GIS research; specialized Mac OS X workstations for multimedia production; and Linux thin clients serving as release stations for print jobs.
