Reporting to the Head of Open Research, the role holder takes the lead on LMG’s support for scholarly publishing and open access to research publications. You will be responsible for ensuring that services align with, and are responsive to, the University’s strategic aims. The role holder manages the university’s budgets for open access publication, playing a vital role in driving policy related to OA initiatives such as read and publish agreements, and provides expert opinion on emerging OA business models. You will both respond directly to user queries and manage the staff in the OA team (currently comprising an OA Engagement Officer and three Principal Library Assistants) whose roles are to deal with frontline queries, promote our OA activities, and provide the vital underpinning support services that allow our researchers to take advantage of open access publishing.
