GIS Specialist The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist works with the Geospatial Information Librarian to enhance and expand the University Libraries’ geospatial information services program in support of faculty, students, and researchers using geospatial data, methods, and tools. The specialist helps researchers and project teams understand and apply GIS in their research and instruction through consultations and a variety of educational programming. The specialist is responsible for leveraging GIS and geospatial technology resources to enhance curriculum development and research innovation across a wide range of academic disciplines. In collaboration with library colleagues and university partners, the specialist plays an important role in supporting all facets of geospatial information services offered through the University Libraries, including hardware, software, data access, and user services.
